Dengue.
Don’t ever get it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, good. If you’re curious, ok. Dengue Fever is a virus that is carried through mosquitos, and I think its found mainly in Asia (though I could totally be wrong). It is also sometimes referred to as ‘break bone disease’, because thats how painful it is on your joints and bones. It also features an awesome fever, and sweet little skin rash. I’m actually really lucky I’ve had a mild case, because some people have internal bleeding, and die. Ok, not many people. But it can happen. (I’m being dramatic more because I’m sooo bored from laying around, not because I feel like dying).
So for those of you who know that Thailand has also gifted me with an unknown stomach problem over the past 1.5 years… you can imagine my great surprise at this nice little addition. It’s like Christmas every time I come here.
Apparently it can take weeks to get your strength back after having Dengue… so yeah. Definitely praying that the medical profesionals are ‘pulling my leg’ on that one. Though it does remind me how much I generally take my good health for granted.
So if anyone knows of any awesome free downloads on itunes, I’m in the market for some good tv (and no, Thailand can’t stream hulu).
